MECHANICAL SUB TEAM
The Mechanical Sub Team Leader is responsible for the design of the robot and working with other mechanical, electrical, and software team members in order to ensure the proper construction of the robot. AutoDesk Inventor is utilized for the CAD drawings used during the design process. The mechanical team is responsible building the robot parts and accessories based on the designs created.
ELECTRICAL SUB TEAM
The Electrical Sub Team Leader is responsible for the layout and proper assembly and functionality of the entire robot's electrical system.
SOFTWARE SUB TEAM
The Software Sub Team Leader is responsible for the programming of the robot for optimum performance during autonomous and tele-operated modes.
AWARDS SUB TEAM
The Awards Sub Team Leader is responsible for the planning, collaborating, structure, development, and execution of the Chairman's Award essay and video presentation. He/she submits the requirements to win other awards, grants, and scholarships offered by FIRST® and other organizations.
SPIRIT SUB TEAM
The Spirit Sub Team leader is responsible for creating all of the themed items and spirit wear/gear for the season's FRC game. He/she leads the effort in showing our team's spirit (cheering), and relations development with other teams during events and competitions.
SCOUTING SUB TEAM
The Scouting Sub Team leader is responsible for creating and maintaining the forms and data used to record statistics, strategies, robot capabilities, and other pertinent information about competing FRC teams. He/she is also responsible for alliance selection during competitions.
The Drive Team is selected, led, and instructed by a mentor. The Driver and Manipulator positions require the ability to lift the robot, maneuver it through a set of driving courses, and perform specific tasks for competition. Students interested in driving the robot during competitions and other events attend driver-practice sessions where they will compete for one of three positions: Driver, Manipulator, and Backup Driver. Several Factors go into the selection of the drive team based not only on driving/manipulating capabilities, but the ability to work well with a partner under pressure and to emulate Gracious Professionalism®.
The Human Player is selected, led, and instructed by a mentor to practice specific tasks and game strategies required during competition. The mentor selects one qualified student as Human Player and one or two backup positions.
The Safety Captain is responsible for ensuring that all team members adhere to team, school, county, and FIRST® rules, safety guidelines, and regulations. The Safety Captain must be able to train and instruct team members on the importance of safety. He/she is also responsible for the inventory, organization, and maintenance of all team equipment, tools, machines, parts, accessories, personal protection equipment (PPE), etc. In addition, the Safety Captain provides support for any safety questions or concerns that may arise and report any discrepancies and/or injuries.
